I had been to China on business visa for 6 months and 9 days but during this stay twice I had gone to HongKong for sight seeing (both visits were for 1-2 days). The stay in China was not consecutive/in a row for 6 months as I had two breaks as mentioned above. Should I apply for Police Clearance Certificate from China and include in my package?

I think that CIC would treat your "day trips" to HK as irrelevant for PCC purposes. In your situation, I would obtain a PCC for China.

These days they have asked for PCC even though the applicants stayed for less than 6 months. So it would be a good idea to obtain those.

Also you can send your application without PCC. PCCs can be sent later when you have received your file number.

Thank you both for the reply. So, what I understand is even if its near 6 months, it is good advice to get PCC for that country.

Yep...

Just had one more question
I travelled to china back in 2002 and as I said I was in business visa. I read some blogs and they say business visas are not provided the police clearance certificate by chineese govt. would some one have information on how to get PCC for business visa stay in china?

Hi

I worked in China from 2006 until mid-2008, I never stayed longer than 90 days at any one time due to the business visa I had. I had breaks in between but I was advised (rightly so) to obtain a Chinese Police certificate which I did. CIC reserve the right to request a certificate from any country you visit frequently or for any amount of time. The 6 month rule is for guidance, however they could still ask for a Police Certificate if you’re travelling to any country frequently. They will review your movements from the details you provide in your application.

Thanks
