Hi

I have applied to sponsor my dependent children who are between 11 and 7 years old, before submitting the application, i made upfront medical test for my dependent children on March 2022 in Dubai....., then included the result with the application which was submitted in September 2022.

Now my kids moved to Somalia and i am in Canada now, i received medical request for 2 of my dependent children but not the 3rd.

the problem is there is no approved panel physican in Somalia, and we have to do the medicals in Ethiopia ?

the issue is, there is no one that can take my kids for travel out of Somalia and I cant leave work and go there.

what is the solution?

can the medical tests be delayed until they come to canada ,something like temp PR, pending the submittal of the medicals...!!

There is a public policy that extends the validity of the medical exam for 5 years, but unfortunately, only applies to those applying from within Canada:

You can certainly try contacting IRCC to see if they will extend the medicals. Most likely they won't but you can try.

There is no provision that allows medicals to be completed after landing in Canada or anything related to temp PR pending medicals. This simply isn't possible.

You can try to get the medicals extended. If IRCC will not extend, then the medicals need to be redone.

hi,,

I included the upfront medicals in the initial application, it will complete one year in March.
What are the policy or conditions for medicals extension?
How u go about it? Shall i send them a webform

Webforms usually doesn’t end up at the designated VO, and they reply in general only?

thanks

There's no official policy with regards to medical extensions for outland applicants. It's entirely at IRCC's discretion. By the rules, the medical needs to be valid at the time the application is approved and until the applicant lands in Canada and becomes a PR. So following the policy, you need to get new medicals done for your children.

Yes, you would submit a webform. The first response is a general response. It can take a number of weeks or months to get a response to your particular situation. There's also some chance they won't respond to you at all.

Best thing you can do is get the medicals done. That's probably what you'll need to do in the end.

Most of the cases when medical is extended is for applicants/dependents who are already in Canada.
