Can the accompanying spouse work

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched but could not find anything related. If accepted through express entry, can the accompanying spouse work? If not, can they get a work permit, when?

Also, we both have roughly the same qualifications. The main difference is that I have done mostly research and public policy while she has done finance. Which job family would have a better chance in the Canadian market?

Thanks!

Hi,

Your spouse will have the same permanent resident status and she can work just like you.

Both of you become a PR on landing and both of you can work in your relevant fields (provided there are openings in the relevant field).
