Can srudent apply for spouse visa same time

Good day all,
My wife is planning to come to canada in sept 18 for studies (PG Diploma) I also want to come to canada in dependent visa . I would like to know is it possible to apply for spouse visa the same time when she apply for study permit ? Or if she is applying for spouce visa only after reaching there, after howmany months sh3 can apply and howlong it will take for me to get the spouse visa? Also please suggest spouce open work permit will be given along with dependent visa or i have to apply for it after reachinh there?

Yes you can apply for owp at the same time as a student visa. There is no dependent visa per se. Note that spouses are not guaranteed an owp.

Thanks alot. That means dependent visa can be obtained for sure but owp in not sure right? Suppose if i didn't get owp, can i apply for it again?

No there is no guarantee that you can accompany your spouse. Your options would be to come as a visitor or on an open work permit. Neither are guaranteed.
