hm.. from the spreadsheet I see that most PERs came 3-4 months after app was received! How are we contacted? always via email? anything by mail? Only important stuff i guess.

I will try on of the next days (maybe as soon as I send my application) to gather all the statuses and times and try to make a good guide about it because it still seems too confusing! I better start studying it then!

thanks!

You will get your PER by e-mail only. no regular mail.

as I said the time frames will vary for all kind of reasons.

So I am starting from today to make the guide of all statuses and updates received from the CIO and visa office after we send the application. Any help will be appreciated so we can create something to help newbies (like myself) learn the tricks :)

So,

1: We call the courier and hand them over the application! We pray a little over it and wish to arrive its destination in time and safely!
2: <-- What is the second step? An email from the CIO that the application was received by them? What is the abbreviation for this and what exactly does it mean (what should we expect and feel) when this happens?

Thanks everyone that will help with this guide in advance!

CIC will not send you a confirmation e-mail. You will have the received date from the couriers confirmation. :)

1: We call the courier and hand them over the application! We pray a little over it and wish to arrive its destination in time and safely!
2: confirmation from your courier services that your folder was delivered (probably 2-5 days depending on the country, days etc)

what comes next?

PS: thanks for the help with that alex!

then we wait for the CC to be charged and this is the one time when we are so happy that somebody takes our money.

And after that again we wait to get the first news fon CIC by email (PER) 8)

2: confirmation from your courier services that your folder was delivered (probably 2-5 days depending on the country, days etc)
3: Your Credit Card (CC) is charged or your bank draft is cashed (approximately X days) <-- I would like a timeline for this one!
4: First news by email from the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) (are CIC and CIO (Centralized Intake Office Sydney) different? negative eligibility response (NER) or positive eligibility response (PER)

Please correct and answer my red questions and guide me to the next step! don't forget estimated timelines!

PER/NER - 45 to 60 days from CC Charged.
ECAS - Client Application Status ( https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en)

From here on the only thing that I know is that we wait for the status to change to"VOreceived"
