Can someone please help me to fill the proof of citizenship form?

im having a heck of a time to fill this form lol
question 8 on the proof of citizenship ask (now I'm applying for my son)

how di the parent obtain his Canadian citizenship? well...my husband is not canadian
then it asks...on what date did the parent came to live to canada? (not yet)
and did this parent leave Canada for more than 1 year before 1977?
all we re given is a yes or no...so my husband was never canadian , didnt live there
how do i fill those?
if i say yes he left that sounds bad and technically he was never even there?????
i looked on the help center online and it doesn't say what to do

did any one else have that same problem?

How did this parent...? = Not a Canadian Citizen.
Canadian certificate no = N/A
On what date...? = Never lived in Canada.
Did this parent leave Canada...? No
Write N/A in the From, To and Destination fields.

Thanks for your help! I was having doubts that i was filling the wrong form and they were able to tell me it was the right one but they couldnt help me with it. I was debating to leave it blank but i think ill file it like you said..it will make more sense.

this may sound silly but where do i find the canadian certificate number? its at question 8 on the application for a citizenship certificate for adults and minors...my b.c. is in french and there is 2 numbers on there..one is just a long list of number and the other has also letters..which one is it? thanks

thanks guys!! now i have a different question ..sorry!..so the form actually changed (or i had an old one?? not sure) but i filled the newer form and it was much easier, this one made more sense.
Only question i have is this : on the front of the form..application for citizenship certificate for adults and minors it says :
important information :
the parents or guardian applying for citizenship certificate on behalf of a minor (under 18) should complete this form


then on section 12 of the form it asks : representative...is someone helping you to fill t his form..yes or no

do i have to say yes? I put no because he is 15 and old enough to answer all this himself but maybe im supposed to say yes according to that is on the front??
then in the instructions it says if you appoint and individual, firm or organisation as you representative you must complete the IMM 5476 form
can i just check NO so i dont have to go through all this trouble. Again this is for a 15 y.o. teen

anybody came across that? I just want to make sure i get it all done right so it goes smoothly. Other than this im good to go!
