I have been trudging through the internet, CIC website and various immigration forums looking for a simple answer to this question:

We know now that under IEC conditions that "implied status" does not apply, due to the fact that the IEC prohibits extension of the given work permit.

However, if I was to apply for another type of work permit, WHILE I STILL HAVE TIME LEFT ON MY IEC WORKING HOLIDAY VISA PERMIT, would I have to stop working immediately while that application underwent processing? Or, can I still work on my IEC work permit until its expiration date.

I have read conflicting information on this, where on some government websites it states that I can still work, but only until the expiration date, while other websites say I must stop working until the new work permit is approved. Remember, I am not talking about implies status whereby my IEC work permit would have expired.

Thanks you!

I'm not familiar with IEC, but I know you can have more valid permits at the same time. I don't see any reason why applying for another Visa would cause any problems on your valid IEC visa. It just doesn't make sense. Maybe that's the reason why you can't find the answer, because there is no restriction like this. If I'm wrong, please someone correct me
