I am planning to visit Canada soon. I have 6 months work experience in JPMorgan Chase from US with a promotion record. But I had to leave US since I did not have enough time left on my US work permit.

In Canada, Chase has its branches all over.
I would love to know, is it possible for a tourist to change status, if hired by JPMorgan Chase on the interview?

Thanks.

It's more complicated than that.

If you find an employer who is willing to hire you while you are visiting Canada, that employer will then have to obtain an approved LMO (labour market opinion) to request permission to hire you. As part of the LMO process, the employer will have to advertise the job and prove they could not find a Canadian to hire for the position. If the LMO is approved (not all are), you can then apply for a work permit. If your work permit is approved, you can then start working.

Note that this entire process typically takes months. Also, many employers aren't willing to go through the LMO process - so finding an employer is usually quite difficult. But you can certainly try.

Thanks Scylla.

Makes much more sense now. The paperpworks are almost similar to USA. Thanks for the information.
