I am a US citizen and currently in Canada and I have a possession of marijuana charge from the U.S. We want to process an inland application. Also, I have to extend my visitor status . SO, can my request for extension be denied because of this criminality??? WHat should I say my reason of extension??

You'll have to determine what your possession charge equates to under the Canadian legal system to answer this question. It will also depend when this happened and when you finished serving out any penalty or sentence given. So unfortunately not enough information to answer your question.
However if you are inadmissible to Canada due to the charge, it may/shoud impact your extension application and will certainly impact your inland application.

Well it is a midemeanor charge and I read it is a summary offence here in Canada. It happened back in 2011. If my extension gets denied do I get deported??

if you are an us citizen, right now it's best to send in an OUTLAND application. currently, us outland applicants are getting approved in 3-6 months as opposed to the 1.5-2 years it takes for inland approval. Right now May 2014 applicants are being approved!
a person CAN still apply as outland even if they are in canada as a visitor, worker or student, assuming your status has not expired. if you are applying to extend your current stay, it is perfectly acceptable to say you are requesting an extension so you can stay in canada during the processing of your pr application. you would need to submit proof of fees paid for your application, and it would probably be helpful to submit your medical exam too.
