I completed 10th standard with 78% and 12th standard with 79%. A natural aptitude for analytical ability, capacity for diligent work and high academic credentials secured me a place in one of the best engineering college in India, USIT of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. From there I completed my Bachelor of Technology with 65% marks and Master of Technology with 70% marks. The four years curriculum of bachelor’s introduced me to a myriad of computer science courses thus laying a strong foundation for both my hardware and software fundamentals.
After completing the course, I wanted to begin my professional journey in my field of interest, however, due to certain unforeseen circumstances, I had to take up the first option that paved my way. I joined the Central Board of Excise and Customs, Government of India, as an Inspector in November, 2013. Though not related to the computer science, through this job, I learned important lessons on how to work in an organization. My computer skills came handy in the department. Later, I realized that the cyber infrastructure in the department is not adequate. There is lack of proper communication between the department and the end user, since there is no proper interface available. Observing this, I have realized the immense scope in the booming field of Computer Science in India.
As things are sorted at family front, I am now ready to take my knowledge and skills in my field of interest to next level. Though I have already done Master in Technology in India but It’s been 4.5 year since I am working as an Inspector in Central Board of Excise and Customs, Government of India and technology is evolving very rapidly. So I need to upgrade my skills and knowledge in order to cope with the evolution of the technology. I choose the course of Applied Computer Science because it provides the practical experience and Industrial Stage and Training (Subject code: ENCS 6931) which my previous Master program and the other Master programs do not not provide. This will help me taking my knowledge and experience to next level since I don’t have any Industrial experience in the field of Computer Science. There is a bright career in the field of Computer science and after completing my study I would like to pursue my career in the field of Computer Science in the Silicon Valley of India i.e. Bengaluru.
The reason why Canada is my most preferred destination for MS is that Canada has been a pioneer when it comes to technology. The country would provide me the best infrastructure and education. The renowned faculty, world class facilities and smaller class size at Concordia University make its graduate program ideally suited to my goals. The Industrial training in the course will give me the practical experience that I need to sharpen my skills and gain knowledge. Interacting with the wide spectrum of students at Concordia University will open me to new ideas and new ways to perform tasks. The international education will give me the caliber to meet the global clients.
