Hi,
I am currently working in the US and my husband is working in India. We have 2 kids. One kid is with me here and the other is in India.

- If I apply for Canadian PR from the US at Buffalo for everybody will it be a problem? do they have to be physically present here for me to be able to do that?

- If not, can I apply for me and one kid from here in Buffalo and simultaneously can they process my husband's and other kid's at New Delhi through the same application, if I mention them as accompanying me with indian address in the application?

Any information or suggestion is appreciated.

Thank you!

You can both apply simultaneously from your different locations so long as your professions come under the approved ministerial list. Your applications must contain details of your husband & child in India as accompanying relatives and vice versa. Your application from Buffalo would take longer to process due to the large number of delayed applications at that mission. If you do go ahead to apply from Buffalo your husband & child needn't be physically present in the USA.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. But my husband is not eligible under any of the current categories, and I need to include him as a dependent on my application.

- is it possible to put him as accompanying me in the same application to buffalo?
- can he go for medicals in india instead of here, when asked for?
- if there is an interview, can he give me an authorization letter to attend on his behalf as well here, and can I collect his visa and passport here?
- Else when called for an interview, can i attend here in buffalo and can he as a dependent attend the same in NewDelhi?

Thank you!

I do not know the medical stage. However, I do know that a freind of mine lives in Dubai. He is not eligible; his wife is in India and she applied as principal applicant. he lives here, she lives there and this is cleraly stated in their application and no problem on that.

- is it possible to put him as accompanying me in the same application to buffalo? Yes
- can he go for medicals in india instead of here, when asked for? Yes.
- if there is an interview, can he give me an authorization letter to attend on his behalf as well here, and can I collect his visa and passport here? Since you are the principal applicant, the interview should it be called is usually for you. They might just want to clarify issues about documents or items used as supporting evidence for your application. But to be candid you will be better to send your application to India since you and your husband can go should there be any need. Also processing time in ND is at the speed of light compared to Buffalo.
- Else when called for an interview, can i attend here in buffalo and can he as a dependent attend the same in NewDelhi? Interviews only take place at the CHC office you selected at the time of your initial application.

Thank you!

Thank you for your detailed reply.

Being the principal applicant and living here in the US, when I apply to New Delhi visa office for processing, should I put my current US address as my mailing and residential address or do I have to put only an Indian address for communication?

Will it be a complicated process that I wouldnt be able to handle the PR application on my own? Or do I have to approach a lawyer to handling my case?

Thank you!

You can use either your US address or the Indian one, however I will choose the US one.

There is no need to employ a lawyer for the process. It is very self explanatory and you can get advise from seniors in this forum.
