Can primary applicant land first?

I applied in FSWP 2014 and got visa early this month. My wife is pregnant, is it possible that I land first and my wife deliver baby here in home country? Do I need to inform VO about this? In the passport request I was mentioned that:

"You must notify «Primary_Office_Name» in writing if there are or will be changes in your life circumstances before using your visas ..:"

If I need to inform then will it impact our visas ? I would like to go there first (before baby is born), get back with PR card, and add baby after she is born.

Why not have the baby in Canada? The he or she is already Canadian, and you would safe a lot of hassle later on.

If not, then yes, you can do what you have planned.

Thank polara69 for reply. It is early pregnancy, she started bleeding last night. Scan report is fine but doctor has ordered complete bed rest until next visit (due in 5 days). Not sure if she will be allowed to travel now or not, if yes then we will definitely do the landing together (I had all worked out that how would I covered expenses during first 3 months - until public health insurance is issued).

If not, then yes, you can do what you have planned.

I don't believe you can do what you have planned since one of you will have already used the PR visa to land.

I believe you have two options:

1) You and your wife both land in Canada and then return to your home country to have your baby. Once your baby is born, you will have to sponsor your baby for PR separately (note that this application must be filed from inside of Canada by one of you).

2) You and your wife delay your landing until after the baby is born. Once your baby is born, you return your PR visas, add your child to the application and wait for CIC to re-issue visas to all three of you. You then land in Canada together as a family.

For this option, would just need to keep in mind that if they don't land as PRs by the expiry date of COPR, CIC may not allow them to delay and could just cancel their application altogether, meaning they would have to re-apply from scratch for PR including the baby as dependent.

If they do request CIC to extend their COPR expiry date they should do that asap. They will need to submit medical proof that she is unable to travel due to pregnancy, and hope CIC is sympathetic and extends COPR.

I think another option is that he can turn his wife into a non-accompanying dependent, go and land in Canada as PR by himself with his current COPR in hand, and then sponsor his wife and child under family class at a later date. Of course he would be required to remain in Canada as a resident while family class PR app is processing so if wife and baby can't get TRVs to Canada, he would need to remain separated from new baby for quite a while which is not ideal.

Probably not, considering CIC does not usually do things quickly. However it should be fine if you have a material change to your family situation (new dependent).

So in this case if you return COPR/PR visas before their expiry to add your baby, CIC will add baby to your app and issue all of your new COPRs/PR visas together. It doesn't matter if it takes less or more than 3.5 months.

However if it's not done in the 3.5 months you have, most likely that means you and your wife's medicals will expire. CIC may be able to extend them, but they may also require you and your wife to re-do the medical exams.

Officially, I'm not certain. I would guess you can do one of these ways:
1. Inform the visa office, and wait until they confirm with you that your wife has been changed to non-accompanying status so will not be expected to land as PR.
2. You yourself can simply go and land as PR, and your wife will not and eventually her COPR will just expire. In the future you should be able to sponsor her still under family class since she was properly declared and did all security/medical checks in your own PR app

I am not certain of this though, so best if another member can confirm or correct if I'm wrong.

Any changes in the family composition should be reported to the CIC / Visa Office.
