Hi everyone,

I am an international student in Canada and I am allowed to work for more than 20 hours until April 2024. I got an opportunity at a place where at least for one day in a week, the work hours are overlapping school hours (by 4 hours at most). A friend of mine told me that if I took up that opportunity, I might get refused for PGWP since I am not supposed to work during school hours. But the class is online and attendance is not mandatory. So I am wondering if someone can help me understand whether or not these 4 hours every week are going to be a problem when applying for PGWP.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Aren’t classes required to be in person especially for international students.

Your friend is right. You can not be working during school schedule hours.

Some of the classes are online and attendance is not mandatory. There are those classes that are in-person with mandatory attendance and I am not thinking of skipping those. Just this one class

Can you please cite source for this? Because I could not find anything on IRCC's website. All it says is that I should not work for more hours than I am supposed to.
