Can Pakistani Get Canadian Study Permit?

I got my admission into a Canadian university late March this year and was very happy. I thought the only obstacle to clear now will be to get the Study Permit which will be easy as I have proof of enough Financial support. However upon asking some people and going through different posts on the internet I have become very worried that getting getting the Study Permit could be very difficult as they reject you saying "you may not return after your studies" or "your area of study is available in your own country". My current scenario is as follows:

  • I am 21 years old.
I received my Admission Letter from Brock university (its in St Catharines) on 29th March 2012.
I was admitted into BA Economics (4 years program).
I am currently a third year student at a renowned business school in Karachi and thus applied as a transfer student.
My uncle, who lives in Toronto is sponsoring for my tuition fess and living expenses. He will be sending me the Sponsorship letter and other financial document within this week. Therefore I will be applying as soon as I receive those documents. I have not traveled anywhere in the world before so travel history, in fact I have never left Karachi my whole life :) Also five years ago I was rejected a canadian TRV, I was seventeen then.

Please help me here with your comments, suggestions and word of advice. I have heard that if you show a VO that you have family in Canada than they might not give you the visa because they assume I have other purposes to go to canada other than studying.

hi,
Technically you can make sponser your relative in canada but for this you have a good financial in hometown and good hometies.
Brock is good rapotation university and your overall profile is looks good..go ahead don't worry its not a issue that you have made sponsor your relative in canada if your over all profile(acadmic grade/score, finacial,IELTS, etc) then its not a issue.

VO might think that you will not leave Canada at the end of your studies .........

hi,
If your personal assets are weak and your hometies is not good(as you said) then its risky to make sponser your relatives....but you should apply bcoz its not a rule and don't know whats your luck as your acadmic good(if you are accepted by brock) then if VO considered any student as a geniun student then they forget all other matters liek finacial assest etc. but there should be all requirement fulfilled.

Do you have your parents and any siblings living in Pakistan? If yes then those are your social ties to Pakistan. As long as your profile demonstrates that you are a genuine student and not trying to use study permit as a route to enter Canada, you have very high chances of approval of your study permit application.

Good luck! Apply as soon as possible.

But why? I am a genuine student who just wishes to study in Canada for Bachelors. I have to return to Pakistan sooner or later as I am the oldest in my family. I don't want to stay there after my studies anyways!
