Can OWP holders enter Canada amidst Covid-19?

Situation for me and my partner (common-law) right now is we both have our Temporary Resident Visas approved last March 6, 2020. SP for my partner, and OWP for me.

We’ve read the memos wherein temporary foreign workers and foreign students whos SP were issued before March 18 are allowed to enter Canada.

Question: Is my accompanying common-law OWP to her SP allowed to enter Canada with her? Her studies should begin this September and we were planning to fly early July.

Way to early to say what will happen in a July. Early July is pretty early to enter for a September start time so you may be asked to show that you have the extra funds without both of you working until she starts school.

Recommendation would be August. You can't start working until your classes start in September. So not much point arriving any earlier.

I guess you’re right. Partner and I are just anxious about the current situation. Yeah, I guess it makes much more sense to travel by August. I can start working though once I arrive as I have an OWP

Assuming your OWP is based on your spouse's study permit, no, you CAN'T work until your partner starts studying.
