Yes that proves CBSA does not have sufficient knowledge. That is the reason they refuse to update with a friend's address if we land and move out. They don't know as much as we do now.david1697 said:kumbu.bumbu, giving a friends address and departing Canada is not the same as living in Canada.
What is essential is that there is no requirement that you permanently or continuously live in Canada in order to receive or request a PR Card.
There is also nothing in law that says you can't give your friends address to have the card mailed.
The only requirement is that you request the card (via initial/free or application w/$50 fee) from within Canada and while you are in Canada.
You can not request a PR Card from outside of Canada.
Once you have updated CIC of your address and requested a PR Card to be mailed, you can depart Canada.
The rule just says you must be in canada. It does not say live in Canada or Permanently living in Canada. When we land we are in Canada so even if the intention is not to live in Canada we are okay. CBSA does not see the rule like we do. We have more knowledge.
