Dear Seniors

I am Canadian Citizen, my wife Jordanian, I applied for for her to get permanent resident visa under family sponsorship
Class. since the processing will take more one year as Damascus visa office is closed now.
So Can I get visitor visa to my wife to stay with me till she get the Permanent resident visa.
I waiting the valuable advise.

Rusrus

Yes she can!

I would recommend her to apply the multiple entry so she can stay longer than the single entry.

Good luck.

Not really a senior, but still...:)

The criteria for a visit visa is that the applicant is sure to leave the country once the visa expires. Your marriage and your PR application would indicate that your spouse would stay permanently. This can cause a refusal for visit visa (however, this would in no way impact the pr application process).

I would recommend that you wait till you are approved as a sponsor of your wife and then ask her to apply for the visit visa. This way there are less chances of her being denied a visit visa.

So if my sponsoring would be approved, my spouse could apply for visa visit? :) :) I've heard that is no possible to apply!!!! :'(

Your spouse can definitely apply. However there's no guarantee the visa will be approved. Unfortunately many are refused.

And will advise you to just wait for your spousal visa approval.

Thank you sakamath, my sponsor is approved even she got the Quebec Selection Certificate.
So I can invite her then she apply for visitor visa. :D

Many thanks scylla , I think I should mention in the visitor visa application the details of sponsorship application, am I right?

Hello san_river

I too looked into getting a visit visa for my wife, while I wait for PR visa. Like you my application is in the Amman VO, and the 20 month wait is a lot. I asked several lawyers regarding this issue, and they all told me the same thing. Even though it is possible the chances of getting one are very slim. The idea here is there is no guarantee the applicant will leave if asked or when the visa expires, because your intent is to stay. This is fear from all the fraudulent applicants.

I will give you the same advise my lawyer did ... wait till your PR appalication is complete.

Hi there. My husband is waiting for pr in canada can i get visit visa for a couple of weeks if i leave my 2 years old son in my hometown? Is it worth to try?
