My refugee claim got approved. I am applying for PR for my spouse and myself. Can we BOTH get our health cards or do we need to wait. What documents must we submit. Whats the procedure. please help.

To get OHIP you can apply here: http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/mbs/ssb/forms/ssbforms.nsf/FormDetail?openform&ENV=WWE&NO=014-0265-82
It says that you are eligble 3 months after you beging residency in Ontario.

Hi,

If you spouse has the COPR and has completed his landing procedure then he/she is eligible for the OHIP however, provicial rules will apply as to the date from which he is covered. In case you are in Ontario for example you may have to wait for three months before the cover commences. However, as far as I know Alberta covers you from day one. Hope this helps.

Hi,

You will require to show your original passport, landing papers and also a proof of address (any utility bill, SIN confirmation letter, bank statement or letter from the bank). Hope this helps.

Is your spouse in Canada? If yes what is their current status?
