I was curious if my husband can travel here for a visit with his Moroccan passport. We are filing immigration papers but would like to see eachother in the mean time. I just came back from morocco in May and now have to work. THANKS!!

He would need to apply for a visit visa, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp

With a Canadian spouse, the odds of him getting a visit visa may be low since he might be considered a risk of overstaying but you don't know if you don't try.

I'm married to a Moroccan as well and have to tell you that your chances are very slim unless he has a job, money in the bank and/or owns property in Morocco. Even then the chances are still not great. But Leon is right, you won't know unless you try. Good luck.

there were same situation with Pakistani member of this forum when he applied for visa even he had great job and good bank balance he got mixed reply they urged him to apply for spouse immigration visa by saying this they refused his application, so you can have an idea but who knows your husband will get it hopefully good luck.

The legal issue is called "Dual Intent". A person applying for a visitor's visa who has been sponsored for PR has to prove that they will leave Canada at the end of their visit to the satisfaction of the visa officer. So they will look at the amount of time applied for, if there is a special reason, as well as all the other factors mentioned. So if there is a special event for your husband to attend like a family wedding and he is not applying for a 6 month visa, etc. Even then, still very difficult to get. Good luck.

Thanks guys! How terrible is that ... I can't see my own husband for months :( Oh well, I guess we are all in the same boat and have to ride out the process. Asalammu Alaykum wa ramatula!!
