I am Canadian/Cuban married to a Cuban, im going to be de sending our sponsorship documents this week and I was wondering if my husband can apply for a visit visa. I know it's going to be awhile before he gets here and we have a son together and I would like him to be here with us this summer while our application is being process. What are my chances? I would like him here for our sons 2nd birthday. I' was thinking about sending an invitation letter to grantee that I will take care of all his living expenses and also grantee that he will leave Canada when the visit visa expired. Will this affect our application?

Dear hernandez_b,

Good Luck on your application, applying for trv would not affect his PR application.

But, i would like to share my experience. I am in similar situation as your husband, my wife is in Canada and i am in india. I applied for visit visa before applying for my PR and the application was denied. After that, i have submitted my PR application early this month. It all depends on the individual application and also on the visa officer processing the case.

I have heard many similar stories from many friends. i also have heard many people who were granted visit visa for spouses also. fingers crossed, hope you get a good/lenient visa officer.

Good luck once again.
