Can my brother still apply for study permit under SPP? URGENT

Hello,

My brother finally just got his GIC and plan to apply for the study permit tomorrow under the SPP category. Is it advisable still to apply given that deadline is Aug 1st or should we just wait for the Jan intake.

He just finished his 12th and applying for the first time.

Any help is appreciated.

Isnt it too late given the deadline is next week. Is there number of visa they give out?

His profile is simple, He has finished his 12th in Science group with 80% overall with IELTS 7.5 overall and applying for Engineering three year program.
