Well yes I know we include family info in our app but how does that relate to sponsoring siblings though? All that shows is that they are related, period. Sibling sponsorship IS more complicated than spouse or parents, or is that not how the system works?

Sibling sponsorship is typically impossible if they are 19 years of age or older. If they are under 19 - then can be included in a parent sponsorship application but typically not sponsored independently.

So it's not so much that sibling sponsorship is more complicated - it's that it often isn't even possible.

Zardoz was referring to your comment "your common law would most likely have to wait for YOU to become a PR first, and then get sponsored by YOU". A common-law partner must be included in their partner's app and would become a PR at the same time.

Oh so IN THEORY it is possible for her brother to sponsor her common law!

In theory you can't sponsor brothers or sisters.

You can usually only sponsor your spouse/common-law partner, and their dependent children.

She cannot be sponsored by her brother.

She can apply under one of the other immigration paths and include her common law on her own application who would gain PR at the same time she would.

Thank you all for the replies.

Now that I have looked into it more I am going to go via the express entry. Between my job and qualifications I should be fine going that way I just wasn't sure which would be the easier route but looks like my brother cant do much for me from what I see here.
I do know a guy with PR that sponsored his brother, hence why I was looking into it. So I will get in touch with them and let you know how they done it!
