Can Mp help expedite hearing for refugee claimants?

we have been in canada for a year now. my husband is higly educated but has been denied several good positions ..... chances are given to canadians and PRs first. He has been working in small technical position with an telcom company for 9 month now. My friend advised us to seek help from our area MP in ontario to have our case expedited. Would you guys recommend us to try that?

An MP cannot expedite your case. They can inquire about the status of your case but cannot influence IRCC decisions or processes.

sorry just out of curiosity would it be fair to expedite your case and push others back that have been waiting longer? I know it doesn't always work like this and people are not heard in the exact order of application.....but how is what you are going through different than what someone else is going through?

Others have been waiting over 2 years for a hearing. When deciding to file for asylum and not seek economic immigration you knew it could take up to 2 years to get a hearing.
