Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if medical residency counts towards work experience for Express Entry?

I have completed my MBBS degree in india followed by post graduation residency in MD radiology which was of 3 years full time and paid.
Anyone who has gone through the process and gained point for residency experience ?

Any thoughts?
Thanks for your time.

Hi, I wish you could help me. I did my MD pathology from India and looking for an answer if I can consider it as a work experience for immigration in Canada or not?

Others seem to have been able to. Would search for other posts. In general I discourage any IMG from immigrating to Canada due to the likelihood of not being able to practice in Canada. The chance of getting a residency in pathology is better than other specialties. It is still not guaranteed or you may have to apply more then one time. Taking the licensing exams are expensive so would make sure you are saving to budget for the expense. You also have to plan on doing a 5 year residency plus often a 1 year fellowship on top of passing your licensing exams and flying around the country to meet with potential residency supervisors . You will have to go to where the residency is located so the most popular cities are unlikely to be left after Canadian students select their residencies. Just want to make sure you are aware that you are making a commitment of 6/7+ years to get relicensed.

Hi, I am looking for only immigration purpose. Not to apply for medical residency there. So if you could help me know which evaluation Centre should I choose? WES or some other?
