Hello everyone, I have done my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and then did a 1 year pre sea training at a government institute for joining merchant navy. Now working as marine engineer on ship and have a work experience of 27 months in total .
In our profession we are employed on ships on contract basis for 6 months at a time . Then we come home for leave and next time again join on fresh contract for 6 months. My question is Since my job experience is not continuous ( maximum 6 months on a contract at a time ). Am I eligible to apply for FSW Express Entry PR ? My NOC is 2274 skill type B .

please reply if some one has any information about this . Thank you

Fourth engineer ??

Get your GME And mechanical engineering degree assessed by WES first.

Get a letter from your company mentioning as continous employement for a year if possible . Rest you can add ,gap doesnt matter.

Letter should be as per Ircc guidlines.

Thank you for your response Sir, in no way company is going to give experience letter for 1 continuous year because contract is only of 6 months . Since my NOC is mentioned in the OCCUPATION LIST I think there has to be an exception of 1 year of continuous service for our occupation because no person working on a ship can work continuously for 1 year as it is against the international labour rules . Maximum period of continuous service is 11 months.

His work and remuneration details are as below -
Hours of working : 84 hours/week, while onboard
Last annual salary : USD 40,000 (inclusive of all benefits and allowances)

In a year, he works onboard ships for more than 6 months cumulatively on rotational basis, which amounts to minimum 2184 work-hoursper year. He gets paid for sea-service days only

If you could get this written in your letter it would be suffice,I Suppose.

I was working for a company which paid me round the year and stated my tenure as permanent employment instead of contractual.

Also ,if you can attach the ilo convetion which states that maximum time a seamen can spend ,it would help to convince visa officer

Dear Group Members,
I am under NOC 2274
Started as a Motorman (**12th PCM - Under Graduate**) now sailing as a 3rd Engineer UK COC (NVQ Route STC UK)
Total 16 Years of Experience

Please share your view the below points, If I am eligible for Fowling being under-grad
1.. Which Programs is better option for me
Express Entry / PNP / OR AIPP
2.I don't know what to submit to WES for evaluation as I am 12th and UK COC as you all know they do not issue Transcripts.
3. My company is ready to share an experience letter for past 3 years as I am working same company (what should be the content of the letter if possible a sample letter) - Problem here is that my company does not have a office in Canada is this mandatory as we all know seaman join and sign from anywhere regard less of the place they stay.
4. Which provenance is a better option for future shore job prospects in marine industry.
5. I have my elder brother living in Ontario with PR past 3 years would his sponsorship be advantageous.
6. Above all is there anyone similar to me from rating background successfully received a PR
Please help comment and share on the same thread as much as possible cause their is very low guidance for seafarers on any social media platform.
