Your question makes no sense. A sponsor must be a PR or a Canadian citizen. Therefore they cannot be a student permit holder, because they don't need one. Please could you clarify the situation?

In that case, probably not any real risks. There is a legitimate reason for returning to Canada.

Leave for how long? A condition of inland PR app is sponsor and applicant must be living together inside Canada. If you leave long enough that CIC feels you are no longer residing in Canada, they may cancel the application based on that. Though this would probably involve a trip outside Canada of many months.

When returning, there is always a risk of denied entry no matter what visa or permit you hold. Although with a valid study permit and proof of current enrollment in school, the risk is very very low.

I would like to know about this as well. I (canadian citizen) am sponsoring my husband (on work permit and currently working). we are planning to travel . If he has a TRV, will there be any problems returning back?
