Can I work 40 hours (off campus) if I defer my winter 2021 co-op term?

Hi everyone,

I am in a dilemma about how many hours i can work off-campus (at Walmart, as an Associate) if I defer my co-op term.
Here is a breakdown of my semesters:
Sept-Dec 2019 - 1st sem
Jan-Apr 2020 - 2nd sem
May-Aug 2020 - Summer break (scheduled)
Sept-Dec 2020 - 3rd sem
Jan-Apr 2021 - 1st CO-OP WINTER TERM

So far, I have not yet found a co-op job, I am still applying and looking for one. In case of not being able to find one by end of February, I would have to defer my 1st co-op.
Once I defer it, would I be able to work 35-40 hours off-campus at Walmart? Can I work 40 hours until the end of February, until I officially defer my co-op term?

Please guide me.

Thank you

No. You are not on a scheduled break. Also not having a co-op or completing courses may affect your PGWP if you are doing no course work or work term.

Hello there,
So my course was a two year diploma course with no co-op which started on September 2019 and was supposed to complete by April 2021, and due to some brainwashing I chose it’s corresponding 3 year course with co-op and had a deferral during the first co-op work term from may to august of 2020 and again had the co-op work term 1 during January to April 2021. But I might be removed from the co-op since I already had a deferral due to covid effecting the job opportunities and it sadly remains the same since like the Sheridan college’s rule says so, would any of you know whether I would be put on an unofficial break until my next academic semester which begins on May 17th? Like I asked the college since it’s their rule but I didn’t get a clear idea from anyone? Please let me know if you know about anyone with similar situation?

Or if it turns out to be an unofficial break, how would it effect my pgwp?
