Can I visit there for a few months after sponsoring him

Hi everyone its my first time here so all the help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I sponsored my husband from Pakistan and the file was approved and forwarded to Islamabad for the process. What we want to know is can I go over there for an extended amount of time to visit him while the application is in procsess. Would it hinder it and what kind of proof do we need to show for lodging when I or we return. Should I continue to pay rent,buy or could i store our belonging until we come back hopely in 6 to 8 months or when I return. Can you help guide us in this matter...............thanks

It depends, if you are a Canadian citizen yes, if you are PR then No, You have to remain in Canada during the processing of the application.

Yes I'm Canadian. To this question I would like to add does it bother the application on my lengyh of stay there for our application. Like does my staying there for an amount of time make the case stronger. It has been over 2mths since the application is in Islamabad. Can anyone tell me how long before they contact him with any news of the steps they have taken?? thank you

As a canadian citizen you can go and live there for 6 months any way , if it makes the case weaker or stronger all depends on the all the proof of genuine relationship that you have sent I do not think it would matter much to go live there to make the case stronger , sure you can go along to the embassy just in case there is an interview , just follow the timelines for your embassy and plan your trip as per that.

Actually living with your spouse is good proof that the relationship is real, so if you go to Pakistan for a while it will help his case. Just make sure you don't stay so long that the visa officer thinks you will not be going back to Canada - if the VO thinks that, the application will be refused. The best thing is to go back to Canada well before the issuing of the visa, so you can prove you have already moved/gone back.
