Hi

I'm an international student who will enter Canada in the next month to study a PHD degree. I will have UHIP insurance and I have to refer to a psychologist in Ontario. My question is that, will UHIP insurance pays my costs or i have to find a personal psychologist and i have to pay its cost by myself ?! (I heard mental health costs is too much in Canada)

Contact UHIP. It is unlikely to be covered.

Psychologists typically aren't covered.

UHIP - not OHIP. UHIP is the coverage for international students.

No, my mean is UHIP (University Health Insurance Plan). Maybe, the best work is to call my university and talk to them.
I searched my university website but it's not obvious that it's ok or not :(

Doesn’t look like it is listed. It is not covered by OHIP either. You are likely looking at $100-250 an hour. There are usually services on campus but due to such high demand it is very hard to get an appointment.
