Hi! I am going to exchange my US license for a BC license. ICBC requires proof of driving experience. My current US license is issued less than 2 years ago. My old licenses dates back to 2015 but I only have photocopies of them. Can I use the photocopies as my proof of driving experience? If not what else can be used?

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply.

I read the page before posting already, it doesn't really answer my question, i.e. whether photocopies of old DL are accepted. But thanks anyway.

I needed only my US state DL to get an Alberta DL recently. But to get auto insurance I had to provide DL "abstract" ...I had never heard of those before

Getting a letter of experience from your previous auto insurance company can act as proof, and as accident-free (if that's the case) years towards your new insurance.
