Can I use my spouse's investment account statement as proof of funds?

Hi,
We are applying for Canada PR with my wife as the principal applicant and me as dependent. From the CIC website, it looks like we need to show $14K+ for 2 people.
We have the required proof of funds in my 401K account (USA) and my personal investment accounts...but not in liquid cash in any of our bank accounts.
Will my account statements from the above 2 accounts be sufficient as proof of funds for my wife who is the principal applicant?
Or do I need to liquidate the 401K or some of my shares/stocks (investments) and put the cash in my wife's bank account. Please advice

I don't believe the 401K funds can be counted since these aren't "available" assets but are instead retirement funds.

Shares/stocks held in a non-401K should be fine.

Hey,

Were you able to use your 401K funds? I know this is late but your experience would be very useful.

Regards.
