Can I update my ECA scores after submitting application for express entry?

Hello All,

I am in process of submitting my application for express entry. I am expecting my ECA results next month, so can I submit the application for express entry now and update my ECA score once I receive my results. Or I should wait for ECA scores and submit application only after adding my scores to application?

Yes, ECA is mandatory.

All your points claims should be available at the time of submitting EOI.

Without ECA you can not add your online profile. EE account requires ECA report number.

Agreed. You need a completed language test and eca assessment to be able to create a profile. Both of those steps have to be completed before you can even get started with the exprss entry process.

I do have an ECA reference number but my application is still in process, Hopefully, it'll take one more week . Should i apply now or wait for another week till i get my ECA result ?

When i submit my profile, it shows as ineligible, i have not given ECA number in my profile, so would that be the reason ?

Okay. If you want to apply under FSW and you do not have a Canadian degree, you must get an ECA for your degree. Otherwise it will be ineligible. This requirement only exists for the principal applicant, for your spouse the ECA is optional.

i recently got my wife ECA report and updated my profile
but my points did not change

Did you wait for 24 hours for the profile to show the change? Also, did your wife give IELTS?

hi yes my wife has given ielts and her point was calculated when i created the express entry profile.
with my score and my wife ielts i got 408 points.
recd yesterday her eca report so included that in the profile with her eca number but points did not change. she did bachelor in arts and eca reports shows 3 years bachelor degree

How much points should you be getting after adding your wife's ECA? Did you calculate it using an online CRS calculator tool?

yes i should be getting 416 point after i add my wife eca report. her ielts gave me 14 points and her education will give me 8 point adding with my own points i should get total of 416 points
