Can i travel to US and fly to home country have valid US visit visa and work per

Hi All,

I wanted to know if anyone have experience or in a similar situations, as below;

Am on a valid work permit in Canada and have a valid US visit visa, am in a urgent situation wanted to travel my home country. Can i drive to US and fly form there and do the same on return. please advice.

Do you have a valid Canadian visa to re-enter? I think that if you dont, you cant. You can travel to only US and 2 other places( i dont remember the names) and come back to Canada on a work permit.

You don't need TRV in order to re-enter Canada back from US. Valid work permit will do. Isn't that the reason you were asking if you can fly through US in the first place?

No you can't.
You are OK to go to USA and come back with work permit only but once you leave US for third country, you loose the privilege and Canadian Border services won't let you in without TRV.

Then I am afraid you can not. But to make sure, it is better to call CIC to check this. You said you are driving to US. So maybe it is a different case. I would call CIC to see what they say to your situation.

Recently I entered CANADA from US with valid work permit ( I don't have TRV) . Officer asked me if I have visited other country during my US visit, while I asked him if I could enter if visit other county he told, no only from US they allow to enter with valid WP
