yes u can....but i think no need of that....food items including Indian spices are available at very reasonable price....indian clothes are costly....so better bring your traditional clothes from there...in case of western clothes also...i found them cheap here in US ND CANADA

I think Roopa is correct. Branded clothese are cheaper, at least in US. I am sure they would be the same in Canada.

I have some friends living in Canada and they told me that indian groceries are cheaper in cananda than US.

And to my surprise, I have found that spices are of better quality in UK, US & Canada than in India :)

Also if you know the places, branded clothes are so much cheaper esp if you can find sales with 70% off.

I can say for that matter that spices are really good over here in Canada.
One more advantage you get is that there are few very big shops where you can find best of all the regions in India. Getting all that in one place is amazing. But one point to note that traveling to some of these Big shops could be cumbersome from downtown area , so I try to go these ones once a month. And there are some small indian grocery stores near to the downtown where I can go almost every week.

Note:- Even with the above it is advisable get some stuff for inital days ( 3-4 days till you a get an idea about the city ) if have some space left.

Mr Singh,

I am based in UK at present and have only visited Toronto, Canada in 2007-2008. I bought a few pairs of Levis Jeans and it worked out approx 30-35 canadian dollars per piece (Levis store in Sears at Eaton Centre), which I thought was very cheap compared to UK (same for around £55-65 ). I was also lucky that when I was in Toronto, there were quite a few sales going on. I managed to buy a lot of branded trainers, even as low as $15 dollars for a pair of Reebok trainers. :)
