Hey guys, I am a refugee claimant In canada. Can I peruse my undergraduate degree while my hearing is pending? I'm I eligible to apply for study permit?

Yes, you can get a study permit.

However, pursuant to R215(1)(d) and R215(2)(d), they and their family members may apply for a study permit after entering Canada if they are subject to an unenforceable removal order. In order to do so, they must meet the requirements of R216(1), which is usually possible by virtue of R216(2).

You have to pay international fees and you don’t qualify for financial aid loans or grants. Some are approved for study permits but some are denied. Worth a shot.

Until your claim is accepted you don’t have status in Canada. So you need a study permit.

Yes, there is a chance your study permit may not be approved.

No, you cannot simply start studying without it. As stated above, you need a study permit.

You also need the funds to pay for your tuition. Most need to work to support themselves.
