Hi, I had an offer from UBC which got rescinded in August but fortunately I had a back up university, but I applied for my visa using UBCs acceptance letter and now I'm wondering if the visa I have is still applicable even though I have an acceptance from another university. The embassy isn't even slightly helpful. Time isn't something I have plenty of and I don't want to miss this falls semester.
Can I still study in Canada?

Dude, We are on the same boat! I have asked a lot of people here and most of them said that you can change the university and show the new Letter of Acceptance along with the valid visa and Letter of Introduction at the POE. I even met a guy who showed another LOA (different from the one which he applied with to get the visa) at the POE and got the study permit, but I am still a bit worried about it! What was your embassy's reply about that?
The embassy hasn't replied, I emailed them 4 days ago. Same here. That's the thing I'm worried about, getting my ass deported before even entering Canada! I tried contacting the embassy through the phone but they won't answer and keep telling me to email or fax them my concern. And there isn't much material on the web on this topic. I'm going to leave on the 31st of august, I don't think I should have a problem after thoroughly searching the internet for anything that states or implies I cannot enter canada.
Hey shanna you said you know a guy who got through with this same situation right? why don't you message me your email address so we can speak more easily, I can't send message for some reason.
I know someone who went through the same situation! plus I asked the embassy the embassy replied to me finally and they said "Please be informed that you must apply for CAQ, in case if you will change your university in a French speaking province" That's all! I guess that means our situation is alright!!?
I suppose that means we're in the clear. It didn't mention anything else? What country are you from though?
