Hey guys,

All of you seem really nice and helpful..so thank you in advance :) This forum is awesome

I applied for my citizenship in around 2011!! My process has been delayed because they sent a mail to my old address asking for supporting documents but I didn't know of this until 6-8 months after. They resent the letter (had to wait another 3 months since I didn't know what documents were needed.

Turns out they only needed me to verify the past 5 years of residence.

Then, in an ironic turn of events, I get another letter ... this time for my citizenship test. However, I was out of town for that entire month (was visiting a friend in Toronto) and I missed the test!!!

They rescheduled me now for July 23rd and I'm hoping that everything goes smoothly and I get my citizenship after YEARS of waiting.

Is there any chance I get still get RQ'D?

Details/Cliff notes:

Been in Canada since 2004 as landed immigrant/PR
Spent 2005-2007 in another country due to family tragedy
2007-2014 in Canada with only 2-3 months in a different country.
Applied for Citizenship in 2010-2011 (not sure lol, I was a young naive student)
I have no family in Canada... I'm practically alone in this process. (Will this work against me?)
I am currently finishing up my Masters in Computer Science (work experience as co-op student 16 months)

What are my chances of going through??

What letter did you receive? Was it CIT520?

A CIC officer or a citizenship judge can demand more documentation at any point. But, odds are, that you're probably fine.

I'm impressed that you got a rescheduled test, etc. despite the missed mail.
