I am getting married in early feb and is planning to returning by End of March or early April. Can I put the application of sponsoring my wife while I am in India or I have to be present in Canada when we apply?

My plan was to basically spend some time with my wife after marriage as the whole process gonna take a lot of time anyway so to stay there for 1.5-2 months as I can easily do that with my job being 100% remote.

If you are a PR, no, you can't sponsor her from India. You are required to be living in Canada throughout the entire sponsorship process.

If you are Canadian, you can sponsor her from India.

Even If I am back to Canada within a month of submiting the application?

Assuming you are confirming you are a PR and not Canadian, you must be living IN Canada at the time of submission and throughout the process. If you send the app while you are in India, expect a refusal.

So it means I cannot even visit India after the application has been submitted to meet my own wife in between? That is weird and terrible.

You can visit but limit it to a few weeks and only a few trips during the process.
