So Pongo how would that work if they are looking to do the interview outside of Canada? If I left I would never get back in..
Why do you keep thinking you would never get back in? I know there is no guarantee with any of this, but I can say anecdotally my spouse's track record for border crossings was atrocious. I was always with him when we crossed and he always got back in. When you have a PR app in process they are generally more lenient towards visa-exempt people, especially if you are with your spouse.

You can even ask for a VR at the border to ease your coming and going (that's more for Americans though, since you aren't going to be flying to Ireland regularly).

thanks for the response.. its such a big gamble I guess we have nothing to lose at this stage!
Can someone please advice if the inland and outland package are the same? Is it just the address that is different?
I can find the inland documentation package but for some reason not the outland. I know I have a thread already opened and apologies if someone has already posted a reply but unfortunately it will not open for me. Thanks again.

That's true. The last time I tried to enter before my most recent entry I had a terrible experience at the border. At my most recent entry I was with my husband and I did most of the talking (most of the questions were directed at me anyways) and once they heard that we were about to submit a PR application their attitude completely changed. I still had to go through a secondary inspection, but the border officer was actually quite friendly and joked with my husband about him looking familiar (my husband had crossed there about once a month before to visit me). There's still a risk I could have caught an officer in a bad mood, but they generally are more lenient when you are submitting a PR app or have one being processed (with visa exempt people anyways).

Sponsor outland. It is highly unlikely the applicant would be called for an interview, since you have plenty of evidence your relationship is genuine. If the applicant does have to go to Ireland for the interview, he would probably be let back in. If not, after the interview is done, the decision is made quickly, so he would not be waiting outside Canada for long.

Thanks everyone for your replies. You all have been most helpful. I have decided to apply inland as knowing our luck if we apply outland we will be the ones that will have to be interviewed and we cannot afford a ticket home. In my previous thread they said I cant apply for OWP but I believe this has been extended for 2016 applicants - is this true? When I apply inland I assume I apply straight away for OWP too for do I have to wait until I receive AIP? Sorry for all the questions its just that I received and read conflicting information and I am not too sure what is accurate.
Thanks again. :D

You do not qualify for the early OWP. You can only get one after AIP as you are out of status. You can get one in 16+ months.

If you apply inland, be aware that you may not get first stage approval (AIP) within normal processing times. Since you're out of status, it's possible your application may be transferred to the local office without approval for further review. There's a chance you could be waiting a couple of years before you even have the OWP (never mind the PR approval). Just want to ensure you're prepared for the wait.

Although I am leaning towards inland, I need to ensure I have all my facts for outland before we make our final decision.
If I am called for interview do both the applicant and the sponsor need to attend? Or is it just the applicant who is interviewed?
When I complete the forms for outland do I need to submit a police check and fingers immediately or do I wait until they ask for this?
I heard fingerprints or only required for inland applications but no so sure. Sorry again for all the questions. Thank you all.

The applicant is required to attend. The sponsor is not.
Police checks must be submitted with the application.

Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding the sponsor evaluation form 5481 Q6 B
"Every other family member not included above and dependent on you financially, whether they live with you or not - enter number

My sponsor has one child who is not living with us and she does not rely on my sponsor (her mam) financially. She is over 22. Do I need to include her here?

Thanks again for your help - and sorry for the silly questions.
