Can I sponsor my husband if he is above 60 years old?

I see you were asking about attending school so assume you may be in your 20s or even 30s. If there is a large age difference there could be concerns that this is not a genuine marriage. You will also have to show that you can support your family. Having a husband move to Canada will leave him very little time to work in Canada and will lead to a minimal pension. Hopefully he has significant savings.

This is not completely true. In case of a public health threat (for example a highly contagious disease like Ebola), this can result in a medical rejection.

If it is a spouse excessive medical demand doesn’t apply here. The situation does not seem as straightforward as some other spousal sponsorships.
