I am physically in Canada but my visa and study permit is expiring, so I wonder if I can re-enter Canada with an new study permit.
The IRCC website says this “If you’re an international student who has a valid study permit, or were approved for a study permit on or before March 18, 2020, you’re exempt from the travel restrictions”. This is pretty vague, I think the “on or before March 18” clause applies to first-timers only.
People are saying different things on this rule, e.g.,
The UBC says it is okay to re-enter Canada with a new study permit, but USasks says the opposite. I asked UofT’s immigration advisor, who told me I can’t enter Canada with a new study permit.
Anyone has any experience on this problem?
