Hey there, I need some guidance here.

I lived in Canada when I was 12-16, I got PR when I was 13 alongside my Mom, We both returned to our country after I turned 16, I went to Canada when I was 18 and Stayed there for 1 year and came back to my country, I am now 27 Years old, I know for a fact Ive lost my PR Status due to all the years ive lived abroad.

My question is, Is there a way to re apply as a former PR? Or do I need to apply like a regular person that has never been in Canada? Does the fact that my mother took me out of Canada by force when I was still a minor affect things in any way?

I really want to go back and live there but I find it extremely difficult, Any suggestion? Any input is highly appreciated.

Apply for PRTD or enter via USA, if not reported then stay for 2 years in Canada and apply for PR card.

That seems like a good idea, The thing is they will probably know that I have a record for when I enter but thats about it, I have no documents whatsoever for when I was in Canada, I literally have no proof that I was ever a PR because my Card got stolen and that was all I had.

PR status never expires only PR cards expire so you are likely still a PR in the system whether you have documents or not. People have been on here that were PRs 30 years ago and no documents but still showed up as PRs.

If you had followed this through when you were in late teens early twenties you might have stood a chance of applying under H&C grounds for a PRTD travel document to travel to Canada to reset your PR status through residency. You could still try to apply but as someone gets older the odds of approval diminish.

You would as a PR now need a PRTD to fly to Canada or alternatively you could enter via the US/Canada land border but the chances of being reported for failing residency are high leading to it being revoked at some point. If in either case PRTD or via land border you would need to stay for 2 years without leaving to reset your status.

If you decide to try applying for a PRTD based on H&C that you were removed as a minor and it gets rejected your PR status would be revoked anyway but at least you would have a clear position.

Once PR has been revoked you would start with a clean slate having no effect at all or benefit on any future PR application, you would need to qualify for one of the immigration programs like anyone else.

I really appreciate your answer and you have given me atleast a bit oh hope, I was looking at the PRTD process and It has requirements like all my travel documents from the past 5 years in which I have none that could prove that I was in Canada in the past 5 years, It also asks for bills or any document that proves that i lived there which I dont have either, I think thats what makes this so difficult, I dont need a Visa to enter Canada (I am from Mexico), Does that make it better for me? Cause I could just enter there as a tourist and stay there for 2 years, THe thing is I need to work to survive and It will be really hard to find a job without papers.
