Can I quit my job while on PGWP and maintain spouse's work permit after extension is approved?

Hello,
I am currently a PGWP holder and have recently applied for my spouse's work permit extension. I understand "sponsoring" my spouse's work permit requires me to have a skilled job, which I do at this time.

Once my spouse's work permit is approved, do I need to stay employed in the same job to maintain his status? I'm looking to pursue my business as self-employed, and want to make sure that quitting my current skilled job does not impede my spouse's ability to work in Canada once his extension comes through.

Quitting the job (and even divorce) does not affect your spouse’s SOWP.
The rule is when a WP is granted, it is valid until its expiry. Your spouse won’t be able to extend the WP but the original validity is in effect.
