Hello,

I'm knew here and I need some advice. Please read carefully before responding.

I am an international student with work experience. Is it a good idea to apply for refugee or for Humanitarian. I can't pay tuition (my funding got cut off). Any one out there went from being an international student to Permanent resident (before graduating).

I live in Toronto. I am open to all ideas. Please help thanks.

Nothing in your posts indicates you qualify for Refugee or H&C. Not having funding for studies isn't a reason for either.

Are you aware of what you must prove to get refugee? You may want to review the requirements before making a claim. Making a false claim will get you deported and make it very difficult to ever return to Canada.

Yeah it's definitely not a good idea to apply for Refugee visa under this circumstances. You better take a break in your studies on any reasonable grounds and try to find some work and get some money for your tution fees and living expenses and then continue your studeis. I think after you complete your studies you can get many options to apply for PR or Work Permit as you say you have already some work experince before. Don't go for wrong paths now as it will definitely put you in more troubles.
And consult some good lawyers over there which can guide you to the right path.
Think wisely before acting.

Refugees and persons in need of protection are people within or outside Canada who fear persecution and going back to their home country. In keeping with its humanitarian tradition and international obligations, Canada protects thousands of people each year.
On December 15, 2012, Canada’s asylum system changed. Under the new system, asylum claims will be heard faster. This means that those who need Canada’s protection will get it faster, while those who do not, will be sent home faster
• torture;
• a risk to their life; or
• a risk of cruel and unusual treatment or punishment.
If you feel you could face one of these risks if you go back to your home country or the country where you normally live, you may be able to seek protection in Canada as a refugee

You will also have to have proof you're in danger, such as newspaper articles naming you as an enemy of state. Without proof, it's just your word and CIC doesn't take your word without proof. CIC operates - proof or it didn't happen.

Why?

Because a lot of people have made false refugee claims.
