I'm from Ontario my company insurance is with Manulife. The coverage would be strictly for what the company provides. NO provincial coverage. For example he would recieve the same dental I recieved. Medical would be limited because most medical is covered by the province. He could have his prescriptions covered, eyecare, massage ect but doctors appt would not be covered. That's why it's also smart to get visitors insurance in case of an emergency where you had to go to a hospital.

Thank you for explanation. That's what I thought. No doctor's appointments for free :) or emergency or tests. But dental is good thing if it's covered. ;D

No problem. wish I had known about this earlier as my bf had alot of dental work done which he had to pay for out of pocket. When only one of you is working it really sucks.

Even with a study permit, you're still not covered by provincial healthcare or at least I know for sure in Ontario. I had no OHIP. We just filled out the form and I was added to his coverage. I'm with Manulife as well. Maybe they operate differently.

Hey u said u were with manulife did you get coverage through ur husband work for both medical and dental even as a visitor?
