Hi,
I am 17 and an Indian student and am planning to apply for a Canadian visa under a custodianship from my relative living in Canada(as I am a minor).
But I currently am facing a problem as Iam not sure if I can open a bank account in canda without having to open a joint account with the adults (as a matter of privacy and security I would not likely be opening a joint account with my relative)
If it is not possible then I might have to cancel my visa and stay back and study here in India ( I would be losing a great opportunity to study overseas):'(
Could you guys please help me with this

hi it's ok
actually in canada minors aren't allowed to have joint accounts. I was a visitor in canada ( I was 17) and i opened an account and the benefit was that i didn't have to pay any kind of monthly fees to the bank since i was a minor

Minors are certainly allowed to have joint accounts.
