CAN I LEAVE MY HOME COUNTRY 4 MONTHS AFTER GETTING PR?

Hi Guys,

I've got my PR in March 2017. PR Valid till Dec 2017.

Can I leave for Canada after 4 months i.e during mid July 2017? Will there be any negative impact on not landing any sooner?

Please give your input/ opinions.

Already answered in another thread.Assuming you mean you were granted PR in March and plan to do the initial landing in July then as long as your documents are still valid this is not an issue. Once landed you will need to maintain residency of 2 years out of 5 from landing date.

@mehtabo7, I am sure you were referring to an Immigrant Visa. As you are yet to become a PR until you complete your landing procedure in Canada.

As regards your question, you are free to land in Canada anytime before the expiration of your IM visa even if it's the last day. However, it is not advisable for you to wait till the last day due to some unforeseen circumstances.
