can i leave canada on implied status?

hey guys,
i came to canada in feb on tourist visa to visit my uncle. i had a 6 months tourist visa that expired on 3rd of august. but before that i had applied for visitor visa extension on 4th of july. now i just want to know that the cic decision is still pending but while my application is in process can i leave canada ? if i do will there be any consequences? will there be any problems if in future i apply for tourist visa?

if you leave canada then you will no longer have "implied status" as it expires the minute you leave canada. whether you have issue coming back to canada is in the hands of the boder agent you meet at crossing. Leaving canada on your own will not have any impact on future applications for visas though it may cancel out your extension if approved. There is always the chance if you have the approved extension, the border agent will still let you into canada with no issue. this is not a guarantee.
