Can I leave Canada as a PGWP holder while waiting for PR processing?

I am currently a PGWP holder living in Canada and have applied to a PR under the FSW (inland) program. My AOR was issued in December 2020 and my PR application is still processing.

I have a family situation I need to attend to back home (abroad) and am looking to understand if my PR application would be at any risk for my traveling. (I should be able to reenter Canada with my PGWP.)

Anyone has any info on this?

no! you are not a prisoner, you can leave and come back as long as your work permit is still valid and you still have your job it will not affect your processing. i went to my home country in January and came back in march i still got my PR in April.

Hey @Nneoma.muna this is really informative. I plan to go abroad for at least 6 weeks while PR is in process. What documents did you show when you come back to Canada? I'm just curious though. I just need to be prepared.

Hey, I got a question if you have a moment to answer. I'm done with 4 months of full time work that'll count towards my pr. I've been getting really home sick these past few weeks and my mental health has been deteriorating. I want to take a break from my job and visit fam back home in india.
So my question is, if I do go home say in February, will it effect my pr? My coworker was saying the job letter I'll get for my pr from company will state I worked full time since xx date and can possibly effect the letter as I'll be away for approx. 2 months.
