Hi,

I plan to visit my mom who lives outside of Canada right after submitting my citizenship application? Am I allowed to be absent during the processing of my application? If yes, for how long can I stay out of the country?

best regards,

There is no obligatory stay in Canada while your citizenship application is being processed but you should at least make sure that your mail and messages are being checked in case they try to contact you or if you are actually moving to your home country that you let them know your new address.

are you guys sure about this? This site says that you need to report if you are going to live outside canada for more than 2 weeks...

That's the point of having someone who will check your mail and messages. When they call you for test/oath, you may only get 2 weeks notice. If you have nobody to check your mail and messages, you should definitely let them know you will be gone. This may however not prevent them from scheduling you for a test/oath anyway at the time you are outside Canada ;)

my wife will be having that case next year .. we have a plan for her to settle with me back in UAE as i have been denied to keep my PR ..
Would they question her when she comes back about why she left after applying for the citizenship ? would that need be a strong reason or they simply should not care about that?
Would that affect her case standing?
Would that delay processing her file - being abroad?

She has all 1095 days backed up with necessary documentation..

One more issue with relation, since they revoked my PR this week, can i get a visit visa from UAE to visit them until they complete their 1095 days?

Thanks
